‘Leader in sustainability’: this has been one of our strategic pillars for many years. It is in our DNA and affects everything we do. We have been successfully winning together and achieving results: this year we won the silver EcoVadis medal!
This recognition means more than just a medal: out of 130,000 companies worldwide rated by EcoVadis, we are among the top 6% in the Meat Processing sector and among the top 15% overall. ‘This demonstrates the high quality of sustainability management and confirms Van Loon Group's commitment to promoting transparency throughout the entire value chain,’ according to EcoVadis.
Naturally, we are very proud of this! Ultimately, we want to win with our customers every day by making most flavourful, sustainable, and healthy meat and convenience products available to everyone. Good, healthy food should not be a luxury but ought to be accessible to everyone, every day.
Since 2011, we have been pursuing a pragmatic sustainability policy in which concrete actions and results are paramount: ‘It has to make sense!’. Last year, we spent a considerable amount of time bringing our CSR framework in line with the new CSR legislation. In doing so, we made no concessions to our pragmatic principles. With the help of our enthusiastic CSR team and CSR ambassadors, we succeeded, and we’re very proud of that! You can read the results in this annual report.
